Coaching Staff
Sam Miller is in his 7th year as coach of the Bowie HS boys and girls golf teams. He has been a coach at Bowie since 1998, serving as a football, baseball, and soccer coach during his many years at Bowie. He also teaches Algebra 2.
Coach Miller is a graduate of the University of Texas. He is married to Janan Miller and has three children. Brody is a Bowie and is playing baseball at Tyler Junior College, Brooks is a Bowie junior and loves computers and making 3D printing objects, and Bree is in 6th grade at Gorzycki and loves Marvel movies and shows.
Karl Lauer is in his 15th year at Bowie HS and this will be his 3rd year with the boys and girls golf teams. He has also been a softball coach at Bowie since 2012. He teaches both on-level and AP U.S. History.
Coach Lauer is a native Texan who grew up in Arlington, before moving to Collierville, Tennessee for grade school. He is a graduate of Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is married to Kim Lauer and has two daughters. Ellie is a 7th grader at Gorzycki who plays softball and is also a part of the dance team. Kayton is a 4th grader at Mills who plays lacrosse. Coach Lauer is a collector of both baseball cards and vinyl records.
Trey Lindsey is in his first year as an assistant coach with the Bowie Golf program after spending the last five years coaching basketball at St. Edward's University and Loyola University New Orleans. He is also serving as the boys' basketball coach and teaching PE and Leadership.
Coach Lindsey is a graduate of St. Edward's University with a degree in kinesiology and a masters in leadership. He is also a proud 2010 alum of Bowie High School. Trey and his wife Maddie have one daughter, Zoe.
