The James Bowie High School Golf Team is one of Austin's premier high school golf programs. We field Varsity and Junior Varsity teams for both boys and girls, competing in UIL-sanctioned tournaments across the region.

Student-athletes train at Grey Rock Golf Club and Jimmy Clay Golf Course under experienced coaches committed to developing athletic excellence and personal character in equal measure.

The program continues to grow with the support of the Bowie High School Golf Booster Club, bringing in additional resources that strengthen the team's competitive abilities and the individual development of every player.

19th year at Bowie HS and 6th year with the golf teams. Also coaches softball. Teaches U.S. History (on-level and AP).

Former head boys' basketball coach at Lake Travis HS for 17 seasons. 394–170 career record, eight district championships. Texas State University graduate.

Fall tryouts are held after school on August 25 and August 27 at Jimmy Clay golf course's driving range. Spring season tryouts happen the second week of January.
Practicing at Jimmy Clay is free, including range balls and tournament fees. Players must pay for a Junior Golf Membership at Grey Rock Golf Club for practices there.
Yes, you need to know how to play golf and have experience with tournaments to be on the team.
Practice is Monday through Thursday (weather permitting) at Grey Rock Golf Club and Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin.
Yes! Bowie now offers a dedicated golf class during 4th period on A Day. Making the team allows you to add it to your schedule.
